Triumph Thunderbird Nightstorm Special Edition
The
Triumph Thunderbird Nightstorm Special Edition is a fully-specified,
blacked-out power cruiser for riders who demand a harder edge along with their
laid-back ride. Based on the successful Thunderbird Storm and powered by the
big-bore 1699 cc version of Triumph’s
acclaimed parallel-twin engine, the Nightstorm adds a host of styling touches
to provide a darker, moodier and more menacing presence.

Nightstorm Special Edition Take a thrill ride to the dark side on the ultimate
street cruiser. This special edition builds on the best of the Thunderbird
Storm to create an even darker, moodier machine that’s effortlessly cool. With
its big bore 1699 parallel twin engine, 107 mm pistons pushing out 98 PS and
156 Nm of Torque at 2950 rpm, custom ghost flames paintwork in Phantom Black
and Silver Frost and hand-sprayed tank logo, it’s a road-burner and a
head-turner.
Power
delivery is smooth, refined and always controllable thanks to the twin balancer
shafts and a sophisticated sequential fuel injection system. The motor’s 270
degree off-beat firing interval adds a distinctive churning character to its
delivery.
The
Nightstorm takes black to a new level. Stripped of much of its chrome work, the
Nightstorm gets a custom makeover. The custom hand painted tank features ‘ghost
flames’ in a two tone combination of Phantom Black and Silver Frost that
provides an incredible sparkle effect finish.
The
tank is first painted in a deep Phantom Black and then both flames and the
Triumph logo are subtly sprayed with silver frost giving a seamless, ghosted
finish without any coach lining. This results in a unique, eye catching scheme
that really captures the essence of the bike.
The
twin-skinned full exhaust system is coated with our high temperature resistance
black paint which is rated to maintain Triumph’s signature quality finish. The
exhaust defines the attitude of the Nightstorm and delivers the Thunderbird’s
distinctive thumping soundtrack.
The
dark character continues with black handlebars, mirrors, control plates rear
brake and gear levers. Contrasting to the black are the specially machined cam
bore finishers and the striking ‘Nightstorm storm’ emblem.
The
finishing touch is provided by the new ribbed design seat which adds another
dash of style plus added comfort. The stitched panelling gives a distinctive
look and is embossed with the Triumph logo.
The
Thunderbird Nightstorm utilizes the same chassis as the Thunderbird, itself
much lauded for its un-cruiser like poise and controlled handling
characteristics. The Nightstorm is endowed with equally outstanding agility and
precision. Fat 47 mm Showa forks, preload adjustable twin Showa rear shocks and
painstakingly refined geometry result in stability at speed, but amazing
steering response and agility at all speeds. Even in slower, tighter manoeuvres
that cruisers can sometimes make hard work, the Thunderbird Nightstorm retains
a highly manageable balance.
A
pair of sizeable front discs and powerful four piston calipers come with
Triumph’s advanced anti-lock brake system as standard, generating high levels
of perfectly controlled stopping ability. Confidence-inspiring Metzeler
Marathon tyres are developed especially for the Thunderbird range, and adorn
five-spoke cast alloy wheels.
The
Thunderbird Nightstorm Special Edition’s tank-mounted speedo features a
comprehensive on-board computer which includes a clock, two trip meters and
fuel gauge, plus a fashionably small tachometer.
Low
700 mm seat height delivers classic looks coupled with easy riding dynamic
suitable for all types of rider.
