Abarth
595 Yamaha Factory Racing Edition
Abarth
has introduced the new 595 Yamaha Factory Racing Edition at the Frankfurt Motor
Show.
Jointly
developed with Yamaha, the special edition features a modestly revised exterior
with special badging, a Record Monza exhaust and 17-inch alloy wheels. The car also has a flat-bottom steering
wheel, leather seats and aluminum pedals.
Power
is provided by a turbocharged 1.4-liter that has been tuned to produce the 160
PS - an increase of 20 PS. Fiat declined
to release performance specs but the model should accelerate from 0-100 km/h in less than 7.9 seconds before
hitting a top speed in excess of 204 km/h.
Besides
the upgraded engine, the 595 Yamaha Factory Racing Edition has been equipped
with a revised suspension with Koni shock absorbers and Eibach springs. Abarth says these changes were made to
increase "steering precision and to enhance the driving feel."
