Aston Martin Bulldog GT
The Aston Martin Bulldog GT is
the product of a Danish firm called HBH. HBH – which is basically the acronym
of the surnames of its three founders; Jesper Hermann, Christian Brandt and
Torben Hartvig, have essentially created a one-off mid-engined Aston Martin.
However the company is now offering the car for sale, and also half the
production rights as well. That means the buyer has a choice; keep it the car
as an ultra exclusive one-off, or gamble the money and try and make some profit
from a small production run.
The Aston Martin Bulldog GT – not
to be confused with the Aston Martin Bulldog concept from 1980 – is powered by
a mid-mounted 6.0 litre V12 borrowed from the Aston Martin Vantage V12. Except
whereas the Vantage has to make do with 510 horsepower, the Bulldog GT has a
fiery 666 horsepower to play with thanks to the addition of a couple of
superchargers. The transmission is a six-speed manual with a limited-slip
differential.
According to HBH that drivetrain
means the Aston Martin Bulldog GT can hit 100 km/h in just 3.9
seconds, and continue on to a 300 kmh top speed.
The bodywork is made from hand
formed aluminium – although carbon fiber had been considered. HBH decided that
given Aston Martin’s heritage a more traditional material was better suited –
despite the fact it was more difficult and expensive than a carbon fiber body
would have been.
