Daihatsu
Motor Co. September 9, announced a new minicar "cast". Announcement
as Mitsui president told the "design power" in the meeting, it has
become a model that is focused on design. Its
price ranges between 1.22 million and 1.647 million yen. They aim to sell 5,000
units every month.
The
Cast is Daihatsu's first mini SUV since the Terios Kid. The Suzuki Hustler
released in January 2014 is a crossover vehicle that incorporates elements of
an SUV, and its sales continue to remain strong.
Developed
based on the new Move, it has a universal appeal that you will grow fond of. It
features round headlights and a contoured body line.
The
Cast has three variants to meet the diverse needs of customers: the Activa, the
Style, and the Sports. In addition to the Activa's crossover-like design, it
has a higher ground clearance of 180 mm (30 mm higher than the other variants)
because it is outfitted with large-diameter tires and a revised suspension
system, thereby improving its drivability on snowy and mountain roads.
The
Style exudes an urbanite feel because of the bumper and side rocker molding
trims. The horizontal-line styling of the instrument panel's decorations and
the black/beige two-tone colors create a luxurious interior.
The
Sports, which is scheduled to be released in late October, achieves a high
handling stability because of the optimizations made to the shock absorbers and
the spring rate of the coil springs. The seven-speed manual mode paddle
shifters and the MOMO leather steering wheel cover help realize smoother
shifting and a sporty driving feel.
Activa
characterized the crossover taste, in order to express the elegant strength,

from the Activa and the Style, there are four more grades available: the X, the
X SA II, and the G SA II, which are equipped with naturally-aspirated engines;
and the G Turbo SA II, which is equipped with a turbocharged engine. It is only
available with a CVT. Meanwhile, each grade will be available in an FF or 4WD
layout.
Furthermore,
the Cast inherits the low fuel consumption technology, safety technology, and
the the lightweight and high-rigidity body of the new Move. In addition to
excellent steering stability and a low fuel economy of 30 km/l (2WD) in JC08
mode, it adopts the Collision Avoidance Support System's Smart Assist II,
enhancing its security and safety performance.
