Thunder
Power has introduced their new sedan concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
Designed to preview the 2017 production model, the concept features a
curvaceous design from Zagato. Notable
highlights include LED headlights, an oval-shaped grille and a unique rear end
with an integrated spoiler.
The
exterior styling leaves something to be desired but the cabin is another story
as it features a pleasing design that incorporates premium leather upholstery,
wood trim and metal accents. The model
also has a "TP-Touch" system which spans the width of the dashboard
an combines the instrument cluster and infotainment system into one huge
customizable display.
The
entry-level model will have an electric motor that develops 312 PS (230 kW) and
320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque. It will
enable the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in less than six seconds before
hitting a top speed of 210 km/h (130 mph).
There
will also be a high-performance variant with an electric motor that produces
435 PS (320 kW) and 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) of torque. Thanks to the extra oomph, the car will run
from 0-100 km/h in less than five seconds before hitting a top speed of 250
km/h (155 mph).
Both
models will feature a 125 kWh
lithium-ion battery which will enable them to have a range in excess of
650 km (404 miles). When the battery is
depleted it can be recharged in less than 6 hours. There is also a fast charging mode that
enables the car to have a 300km range in under 30 minutes and nearly a full
charge in an hour.
The
sedan will also ride on a dedicated platform that uses lightweight
materials. The company was coy on
specifics but said the platform is modular and can be used to underpin
everything from compacts car to large crossovers.
