Maruti
Ciaz RS
Maruti
Suzuki launched the Maruti Ciaz RS today which is priced from INR 9.20 lakhs. It is available in the range topping trims of both petrol
and diesel variants.
The
sportier version of the Ciaz gets cosmetic add-ons such as a front spoiler
(front bumper lip), side skirts and a boot-lid mounted spoiler. These additions
are said by the company to be improving the aerodynamics of the car.
The
cabin of the Ciaz RS gets a new black theme replacing the beige-mixed pattern,
with the instrument cluster being treated in a brushed silver finish. There is
no other change in the RS version compared to the standard Z+ variants. The
dashboard trims and features list remain intact, which include the dual front airbags
and ABS.
The
Maruti Ciaz RS is powered by the same petrol and diesel engines powering the
standard versions. The former is a 1.4-litre unit that produces 95 PS at 6,000
rpm and 130 Nm at 4,000 rpm, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The diesel model
gets the 1.3-litre unit with the SHVS hybrid technology. It churns out 90 PS at
4,000 rpm and 200 Nm at 1,750 rpm, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
No
change in the fuel efficiency is reported. The Ciaz petrol returns an ARAI
certified mileage of 20.73 km/l with the manual gearbox, while the diesel
variant with SHVS delivers 28.03 km/l.
