Suter
500 MMX
After
months of speculation and rumours about its specifications, Suter finally
unveiled the MMX 500 race bike. What makes the Suter MMX 500 unique is its
two-stroke powerplant. Powering the motorcycle is a 576 cc displacement,
fuel-injected V4 mill churning out an impressive 200 PS at 13,000 rpm and mated
to a 6-speed gearbox. The fairing, fuel tank and other panels have been crafted
from carbon fibre to keep weight under check. And the bike tips the scale at
just 127 kg!. Given the astounding power-to-weight ratio
one can imagine what a beast the Suter MMX 500 will be to ride and the
manufacturer claims a genuine top speed of 310 km/h.
The
two-stroke motorcycle employs an adjustable twin-spar frame to endow it with
good handling dynamics. Talking about suspension, the bike features Ohlins
FGR300 forks in the front and Ohlins TTX GP shock in the rear and buyers can
opt for aluminium or magnesium Oz wheels. The Suter MMX 500’s production will
be limited to just 99 units with each motorcycle carrying a sticker price of Rs
81.28 lakh (without any taxes). The above pricing means that spotting one will
be a rare occasion but makes it among the best track day motorcycle on sale.
The Suter MMX 500 is expected to be raced at next year’s World GP Bike Legends
event in period livery.
