2016
Ducati Hypermotard and Hyperstrada
Ducati unveiled the 2016 Hypermotard range with a new
Euro4 compliant Testastretta engine and improved overall packages at EICMA 2015.
Ducati, in fact, has
fitted the new Euro4 compliant 937 cc V-twin engine in the 2016 Hypermotard, the
track-focused 2016 Hypermotard SP and the touring-oriented 2016 Hyperstrada.
Besides a new engine, all three motorcycles also come with fully adjustable
suspension, Brembo brakes with ABS, traction control and multiple riding modes.
Over the old
Hypermotard’s engine, the cleaner, more environmentally friendly 937 cc V-twin
motor features a revised crank with new cylinder and cylinder heads. Putting
out 113 bhp at 9,000 rpm, the new motor only makes around 4 bhp more than the old
unit but is claimed to pack in a lot more torque.
Like the old model, the
2016 track-focused Hypermotard SP commands a premium positioning with its
sportier Ohlins suspension, forged Marchesini wheels, magnesium engine covers,
carbon fibre bodywork and sticky Pirelli rubber. Lastly, the 2016 Hyperstrada
shows off its touring capabilities with a windscreen, a wider saddle, a 20 mm
taller handlebar and side bags.
The 2016 Hypermotard,
Hypermotard SP and Hyperstrad are now on sale in the UK with prices ranging
between £ 9,995 and £ 12,995.
