Toyota Yaris Sedan
The 2016 Scion iA,
the first Scion-branded sedan that was unveiled at the 2015 New York
International Auto Show, has been announced as the 2016 Toyota Yaris Sedan in
Canada. Rebadging an already rebadged car, this is the second iteration of the
Mazda2 Sedan that is now on sale in Canada.
The
2016 Toyota Yaris Sedan is available in two trim levels – Sedan (standard) and
Premium. Noteworthy
standard features offered in the base trim level include a 4-speaker music
system with AM/FM, USB, Aux and Bluetooth connectivity, tilt and telescopic
steering wheel with audio controls, keyless entry and push button start, 60/40
split rear seats and heated and power adjustable door mirrors.
The
Premium trim level benefits from 16-inch aluminum alloy wheels, 6-speaker audio
system with a 7-inch touchscreen display, reversing camera, cruise control,
heated front seats, and fog lamps.
The safety and assistance features on both trim levels include Dynamic Stability
Control (DSC), Traction Control System (TCS), Electronic Brake-force
Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), Brake Override System, driver and front
passenger airbags, front and rear side curtain airbags and front seat-mounted
side cushion airbags.
The
2016 Toyota Yaris Sedan is powered by a 1.5-liter four-cylinder naturally
aspirated gasoline engine that produces 106 hp and 103 lb-ft. (140 Nm) of
torque. The base trim level has two transmission options, 6-speed manual and
6-speed automatic, while the Premium trim level comes exclusively with the
latter. Combined fuel economy rating for the manual transmission and automatic
transmission equipped 2016 Toyota Yaris Sedan is 42 mpg (14.93 km/l) and 44 mpg
(15.63 km/l) respectively.
