Audi R8
Audi has announced that
it will be bringing some performance models to the 2015 LA Auto Show (2015 Los
Angeles Auto Show), which begins on November 20. That model is the 2017 Audi
R8.
The second generation
of the R8 will make its US auto show debut. Billed as the fastest and most
powerful Audi of all time, the 2017 R8 has been co-developed with the Audi R8
LMS racecar. It is said to share 50% of its parts with the racecar that also
includes the V10 engine.
The R8 will come in two
variants, standard and V10 Plus, both of them deriving power from the
naturally-aspirated 5.2-liter V10 powerhouse. The Standard grade produces 540
hp and 540 Nm (398 lb.ft.) of torque while the Plus variant improves on that
figure and is capable of 610 hp and 560 Nm (413 lb.ft.) of peak torque. Both
trims are paired to the 7-speed dual clutch transmission that sends power to all
four wheels. The 2017 R8 will go on sale in spring of 2016 with prices yet to
be disclosed.
