KTM
X-Bow by Wimmer RST
The KTM X-Bow doesn’t
lend itself to tuners, as it’s the embodiment of a very capable, factory-stock
track-weapon. Still, Wimmer thought it can boost it up a notch, developing an
affinity for the vehicle, and this is the latest result.
Because Wimmer RST is
also the German retailing partner and dealer for KTM, another performance
uplift offering for the vehicle was almost a must.
Mind you, this time,
the power upgrade isn’t that substantial, especially as a 790 kg car
only needs so much raw potential, and that’s why the ultra-light, carbon
fiber-constructed X-Bow got its 2.0-litre engine tweaked to a total power
figure of 375 hp and 500 Nm of torque, making it an extreme
driving machine in the process.
That’s a 79 hp and a
100 Nm bump over the factory output, which comes from an optimized
engine ECU and a stainless-steel exhaust system; enough to make it accelerate
from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds, and from 0 to 200 km/h in
11.2 seconds.
Wimmer didn’t stop there; as you can see from the ludicrous visual
enhancements, the vehicle now features carbon-fiber auxiliary parts, including
rear wings and spoilers, air guiding elements, aero-parts around the exhaust,
racing underbody, front splitter and rear diffuser. To top it off, it smugly
sits on Taneisya forged rims, wrapped in Toyo semi-slicks.
According to Wimmer,
you can permanently sit in the car’s Recaro Premium Racing seats and put your
hands on the real leather steering wheel for € 99,999 (US$ 106,323).
