2016
Honda CRF450R
With
quite a successful year in the AMA Supercross series , gaining a total of six
wins and a podium finish at every round, the Honda CRF450R is now ready to be
upgraded for 2016.
To
increase the stability of the new bike, Honda has upgraded the forks which are
now 5 mm longer. The rear suspension also get a new link and spring for 2016
and the shock settings are revised. The diameter of the chain roller has now
been reduced by 4 mm to 34 mm. The rear suspension how supports 8-click
adjustments as compared to the previous 4.
The
engine for the Honda CRF450R remains the same as the current model. Its a 449
cc Unicam liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, four-stroke unit where the piston receives
special treatment for maximum durability.
According
to Honda, the new CRF450 gets better tuned PGM-FI (Honda’s Fuel Injection) that
emphasises more on low and midrange power for a more “predictable” engine
performance.
For
2016, Honda has upgraded the from forks to 48 mm inverted KYB PSF (Pneumatic
Spring Fork) that are lighter than the previous coil-spring ones. These also
have added advantage of making tuning easier and less expensive. To give the
front end more stability, the Honda Progressive Steering Damper (HPSD) works in
conjunction with the suspension.
The
new 2016 Honda CRF450R will be available in a two tone red/white colour scheme
with prices starting at US$ 8,699.
