2016 Hyundai Azera

Hyundai has announced the 2016 Hyundai Azera for the U.S. market. The updated sedan will be available in two trim levels, Azera and Azera Limited which cost US$ 34,100 and US$ 39,300 (before taxes) respectively. Just like the 2016 Hyundai Genesis, this offering will also be seen in showrooms next month. The base trim level sees an increase in the asking price by a small amount of US$ 100 from previous model year.

For 2016, the Azera does not get any visual enhancements. Hyundai is content with offering minor updates to the equipment and that too, on the top-end Limited trim. Changes include a smart cruise control with stop/start capability and inclusion of electronic parking brake.

On the inside, the cabin is equipped with an 8-inch touch-screen system with satellite navigation and integrated backup camera with support for voice recognition, Bluetooth, iPod, USB and Aux. Entertainment is provided through a 550-watt, Logic7 Surround Sound premium audio system with 14 speakers and an 8-inch subwoofer. The Azera is available with standard safety and assistance systems such as Blind Spot Detection (BSD) with Rear Cross-traffic Alert and Lane Change Assist which are complimented by nine airbags, three-point seatbelts and Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children (LATCH) system.

Power is provided exclusively by a 3.3-liter V6 engine that produces 293 hp at 6,400 rpm and 346 Nm of torque at 5,200 rpm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission with Shiftronic manual control. Hyundai says that the Azera delivers an EPA-estimated combined fuel economy of 23 mpg (9.78 km/l).
