Toyota Prius c
Toyota
has revealed the 2016 Toyota Prius c for the U.S. market. The new model is
available in four grades : One, Two, Three and Four. A new Persona Series
Special Edition model has also been introduced. It’s limited to just 1,500 units.
The
Prius c gets minor changes for 2016 as major changes were already been
incorporated in the 2015 upgrade. Toyota Safety Sense-C system is now available
optionally. This system includes technologies like Pre-Collision System, Lane
Departure Assist and Automatic High Beams. Single LED projector low- and
high-beam headlights and LED tail and brake lights are standard.
The
cabin of the Prius c gets two-tone fabric seats, 6-way adjustable driver’s
seat, 60/40 split rear seats, cruise control, engine immobilizer and a cargo
area cover.
The
Prius c Persona Series Special Edition will go on sale in December this year
and is exclusively available in Black color with a choice of two color accents, Electric Lime and Cherry Pearl. These accents are found all over the exterior
such as on the lower front grille trim, beneath the headlights, on the ORVMs
and on trim beneath the side windows. On the inside, this accent is applied on
the interior rear-view mirror shell. Other special features are 15-inch black alloy
wheels and a custom “Persona Series” badge.
Power
comes from 1.5-liter inline four-cylinder gasoline engine working in
conjunction with the electric motor. The gasoline engine produces 73 hp and 111 Nm of torque. The system output is 99 hp. The hybrid car can be
driven in all-electric mode for under one mile (1.6 km) with a top speed of 40 km/h. The EPA-estimated city fuel economy is 22.53 kpl.
