Ford
F-150 2015 SEMA
After
confirming the presence of customized models of its Edge and Explorer models at
the 2015 SEMA Show, Ford has added the F-150 truck to the list now. From adding
a manual gearbox to making it into a hardcore off-roader, customizers have gone
the whole hog to grab eyeballs at the show. Here is a look at all the seven
customs that will be on display.
MRT 2016 Ford F-150:
Starting
with the exterior, this build has a two-tone blue and black paint by PPG
Custom. The truck gets custom head- and tail-lights by the Lighting Firm and
MRT heat extractor on the hood. The sides receive 20-inch Forgiato performance
wheels and shadow tinted glass with the rear featuring a hard shell aero
tonneau cover by Team Z Motorsports who also provide the custom rear spoiler.
The
interior has Sparco race seats and harnesses, Innovate Motorsport gauges and
safety elements such as Team Z Motorsport custom roll cage. In the event of a
theft, the vehicle can be tracked using the integrated GPS track apps.
Mechanical
changes are extensive. Not least, is the installation of the Tremec Magnum
6-speed manual transmission in place of the original automatic unit. Exedy has
provided the performance clutch and flywheel while MRT custom shifter takes
care of the gear changes. Further performance boost is provided by Max-Flow
h-pipe and back-half exhaust system as well as MRT custom induction.
Chassis
has been lowered by Air Lift performance and features advanced stability
control, the rear suspension is a custom setup done by MRT while stopping power
is provided by Wilwood performance brakes.
Leer 2016 Ford F-150:
This
F-150 SuperCrew has been designed with a theme of “Live Larger”. The exterior
gets Axalta Cromax Pro gloss blue paint accentuated with matte black
accents. The chassis is set with Rancho Performance MT suspension with a
six-inch lift kit, front shocks with RS7000MT struts and rear shock absorber.
The wheels are Fuel Off-Road FF14 Forged 22-inch wheels wrapped in Fuel

performance calibration and Ultra Flo muffler with 4-inch exhaust tips.
Roush Performance
2016 Ford F-150:
This
truck takes performance in the segment to new heights. Its creators wanted to
make a vehicle that fit between street truck and track support vehicle. Under
the bonnet, rests a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 claimed to produce 650 hp and 600
lb-ft (813 Nm) of torque. Helping the engine make all that power are Roush
supercharger system, active exhaust and air intake kit. The chassis receives a
Crown suspension lowering kit with Power Stop drilled and slotted rotors.
The
exterior is lavished with Roush graphics and 22-inch Weld custom wheels wrapped
in Falken 265/40 tires. The front features a three-piece front grille and front
bumper cover with window tinting done by 3M. The interior gets Katzkin custom
leather and seats with heating and cooling function.
CGS Performance 2016
Ford F-150:
The
performance of the 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost engine in this pickup is enhanced by
CGS Performances’ cat-back exhaust and cold-air intake system alongwith an
intercooler from Whipple Superchargers. Chassis modifications are in the form
of PML differential cover, McCaughey’s lowering suspension and Air Lift air
management system.
Bodily
revisions are Axalta Refinishes custom paint, Leer 750 Sport tonneau cover,
Raptor Retrofit headlights/fog lights, Tint Works window tint and BedRug
carpeted bed among others.

is Alea custom leather for the interior, Lloyd Mats custom floor mats, Husky
Liners cargo box and NAV-TV MyTouch VIM13/F-CAM.
AIRDESIGN USA 2016
Ford F-150:
This
F-150 is probably the toughest-looking truck among the lot. The exterior
description begins with the BASF two-tone red and black paint applied by Wet
Works, and goes further to add Sundial window tint, Fuel 2-piece 20-inch
cleaver wheels and Pace-Edwards electric tonneau cover to the modification
list. Airdesign have added a lot of their accessories such as bumper guard,
scoop, vent, flares, door mouldings, tailgate spoilers and some more to beef up
the rugged look. The high ground clearance is courtesy of Bilstein 5160 series
lifted shocks with reservoir.
The
cabin features Roadwire custom red and black leather seats, Focal audio
upgrades and BASF accents matching the colour of the seats. Mechanical changes
are Gibson cat-back exhaust and Vortech intercooler upgrade.
Forgiato 2016 Ford
F-150:
Dubbed
as the “villain”, this F-150 has a red and black paint theme, Forgiato Terra
24-inch wheels covered in Nitto tires and a Rancho 6-inch lift kit. The evil
look is amplified by an Airdesign USA full body kit, Rigid lights, Fab Four
premium bumpers and Leer tonneau cover. The only change in performance is due
to the introduction of a Whipple supercharger with the interior sporting Alea
leather.
Galpin Auto Sports
2016 Ford F-150:
Galpin
has given this F-150 a custom PPG paint job similar to the Gulf paint scheme.
This truck however, is a hardcore off-roader, and has several modifications to
that effect. It gets Addictive Dessert Designs (ADD) modified XTR body kit,
20-inch ADV1 wheels, custom front and rear off-road bumpers by SMP Fabrication,
LED headlights by Lighting Firm and custom -differential cover, -front grille,
-puddle lights by Galpin Auto Sports.
The
chassis bears a stage 3 suspension kit by ADD alongwith front coilover
suspension and bypass shock rear suspension by Sway-A-Way. Stopping power is
provided by Wilwood 6-piston calipers biting on 16-inch rotors.
Interior
feel is upgraded by usage of Katzkin custom leather, custom interior trim by
Galpin Auto Sports and a Diamond audio system by GAS. Performance boost is
given by front-mount intercooler kit with 3-inch cold air intake as well as
cat-back exhaust system, both by Freak-O-Boost.
