Jaguar Connected F-Pace
Technology is the name of the game at
CES 2016 and to that end, Jaguar Land Rover has unveiled a special variant of
the F-Pace.
This particular F-Pace model has been
developed with Intel and has been outfitted with a custom infotainment system
and redesigned graphical interface. Thanks to Intel, the car's systems are able
to wirelessly connect to an Intel gateway in a house, allowing the vehicle to
communicate with a range of other Intel devices.
One such feature of the F-Pace is that
due to its connection with the owner's house, the car's temperature can be set
to perfectly match that of the house and vice versa. Additionally, the car is
able to alert drivers if an important item has been left in the house thanks to
small electronic tags. What's more, the car can be set to alert driver's when
it is turned on if there are another electronic devices switched on in the
house, such as TVs, and if there are, they can automatically be turned off.
The British automaker freely admitted to
Autocar that it isn't yet sure which of these systems consumers will want in
the coming years. Jaguar believes that by developing such technologies, it can
work out what customers will want.
It's likely that at least some of the
functions from the connect F-Pace will find their way into future Jaguar
production models.
