Mercedes-Benz G500 Rock Edition
Mercedes-Benz had showcased the Mercedes
G500 Rock Edition at the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show. The Rock Edition
is basically a G-Class with visual enhancements.
Changes are instantly visible on the
outside. The iconic off-roader has received the gloss-black treatment to the
front and rear bumpers, wheel arches, five twin-spoke alloys and the roof. The
interior has an all-black look with only the seats getting a two-tone layout.
The dashboard and the seats are upholstered in leather with contrasting red
stitching.
The cabin is further decorated by the
use of metallic and gloss-black accents that are seen adorning the four-spoke
steering wheel, instrument cluster and center console. A free standing display
for the infotainment system is located on top of the center console with the
drilled aluminum pedals being another interesting detail.
Under the hood, rests
the 5.5-liter V8 petrol engine that has an output of 382 hp and peak torque
figure of 530 Nm that is relayed to all four wheels through a 7-speed automatic
gearbox.
