Mercedes-Benz G55 AMG By Kahn
Kahn Design’s
modified a Mercedes G-Class is a nice surprise.
Tuned G-Wagens come by the bucketload,
so it’s kind of hard for a designer to come up with something fresh; Kahn’s own
style, seen on so many Defenders over the years, apparently goes hand in hand
with the Merc's boxy looks, as it’s rugged body-kit and accessories complement
the vehicle’s presence with some added attitude.
Dubbed the “Military Edition”, this 2003
G55 AMG sits on G06 Diamond Cut and Shadow Chrome rims 9.5 x 22 inches in
dimensions and its painted in a matte British-green hue that really emphasizes
its “military” motif.
Kahn says this vehicle is a one-off
creation built for a TV series, and although it looks made for conquering the
trail, it sports all the G-Class’ creature comforts such as
electric seats, tan leather interior, electric everything and even park
distance control.
The 5.5-litre, 500 hp off-roaded is
offered for sale for the “hefty” price of £ 46,995 (US$ 67,389). A little steep for
a 13-year old car, but it does only have 41,600 miles (66,948 km) on the clock
and Kahn’s visual touch.
