Porsche 911 R

Porsche's exciting new 911 R is tipped to make its world debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show in March.

The 911 R will be based around the popular GT3 and capped to just 600 units worldwide. It will therefore be adorned with many of the same body panels as the GT3 but if the rumors are true, the 911 R won't sport the GT3's towering rear wing nor its massively-wide wheels and tyres and instead utilise slimmer tyres.

While all Porsche 911 models created by the company's GT division are offered solely with automatic 'boxes, the 911 R will come standard with a six-speed manual transmission, similar to the Porsche Cayman GT4.

Engine wise, there's a possibility that the 911 R will actually be powered by the 500 hp, 4.0-liter naturally-aspirated six-cylinder engine of the GT3 RS, rather than the less-powerful 3.8-liter of the 'regular' GT3.
