Scion Line up at 2015 SEMA Show
Scion has unveiled SEMA Show lineup, which consists of custom
concepts based on the iM hatchback and iA sedan.
Probably
the most striking creation is Eddie Huang’s Scion iA sedan, inspired by classic
lowriders which are very popular in Los Angeles.
The
car features a metallic yellow paint with root beer accents, with a mural of a
“human panda,” which is how Huang refers to himself, painted on the hood. One
can’t ignore the wire wheels dipped in gold, along with the unique gold-plated
front grille.
The
interior is decorated in a similar fashion and includes a chain-link steering
wheel, custom swivel front seats and more. It wouldn’t be a lowrider without an
air suspension, which is why Eddie Huang fitted the iA with a dual-stage air
bag system with independent wheel control which allows for side to side, front
to back and 3-wheel motion.
The
second Scion iA-based concept was created by Skybound Entertainment and pays
tribute to Robert Kirkman’s latest comic book, Outcast. The car’s theme is
“demonic possession,” which is why the customized iA can move and operate on
its own via pneumatic movements of multiple components and an automated
sequence of light and audio effects. The car’s creators say it is able to
gyrate, smoke, change colors, and emit eerie sounds.
This
bizarre project sports an orange, black and green paint scheme with a demonic
spirit graphic directly inspired from the comic book featured on the roof.
Scion
will also showcase two Scion iM-based concepts, but only one of them has been
unveiled. Created by streetwear brand Crooks & Castles, the project sports
a wide body kit and AccuAir suspension. The black exterior contrasts with an
all-white leather wrapped rollcage, while the race seats are wrapped in black
leather. The car rides on custom white mesh wheels.
The
other Scion iM tune was created by streetwear brands illest and we only know
that it is inspired by the Japanese VIP world.
