Tata Zica Hatchback
Tata Motors will launch the Zica hatchback on January 20, 2016. The
pre-Auto Expo launch of the Zica is inline with Tata Motors’ plans of launching
the hatchback this financial year.
The Zica will be offered to customers
with a 1.2-liter petrol engine or a 1.05-liter diesel engine, both
three-cylinder units. The Revotron petrol engine is an all-new all-aluminium
unit, whereas the diesel engine is badged Revotorq.
The petrol unit is capable of 85 PS and
114 Nm of torque whereas the diesel is rated for 70 PS and 140 Nm of torque.
Both engines are paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. Tata is yet to
release ARAI-rated fuel efficiency figures, but reports state petrol and diesel
variants will return more than 20 km/l.
Top-end variants of the Zica will get
dual front airbags, ABS, EBD, Cornering Brake Control, 14-inch alloy wheels,
foglights, a rear spoiler, keyless entry, a multifunction steering wheel, a
Harman music system with 8 speakers, reverse parking sensors, navigation
support, and customization options.
The Zica is expected to be joined by a
compact sedan later in the year. The Zica-based sedan
will be previewed at the forthcoming Auto Expo 2016.
