Kia K5 Hybrid (2016 Kia Optima Hybrid)
The
2016 Kia K5 (Kia Optima) Hybrid has been officially revealed in South Korea as
the conventional petrol-electric hybrid variant of the fourth generation 2016
Kia K5 (2016 Kia Optima). The 2016 model is the mid-size hybrid sedan’s second
innings following its introduction at the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show.
The
2016 Kia K5 Hybrid, the conventional hybrid variant gets a distinctive front
fascia with unique upper and lower grilles and mildly tweaked bumper and air
inlets. The hybrid variant gets an Active Air Flap mounted on the radiator
grille that automatically closes the grille at high speeds to minimise air
resistance.
On
the sides, the chrome fender grille has been replaced by an “ECO hybrid” badge
which is accentuated with a blue surrounding. Two aerodynamic wheel designs are
available, one in 16-inch size and one in 17-inch size.
At
the rear, the bumper has been reworked and given vertical reflectors, while the
tailpipe seems to have been tucked behind. An “ECO hybrid” badge has been
emblazoned on tailgate as well.

naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 156 PS and 189 Nm of torque, and is assisted by a 51 hp electric
motor. This is the same hybrid system offered in the 2016 Hyundai Sonata
Hybrid. The hybrid system is linked exclusively to a 6-speed automatic
transmission. CO2 emissions figure can be as low as 91 g/km and the combined
fuel economy figure can be achieved 17.5 km/l. The hybrid car weighs 1,580 kg
