Maserati Levante
The first SUV that wears the historic
trident will make its North American debut in New York next week, and it will
go on sale across the States from April.
With a base price of US$ 72,000, the
Levante comes standard with air suspension, but Maserati's Skyhook adaptive
dampers, which improve its on-road handling and off-road performance, is
optional. The range-topper Levante S starts from US$ 83,000 excluding destination.
Available at no extra cost are the power
tailgate with obstacle detection, hill descent control, keyless entry and
start, 8-speaker audio system, HomeLink garage door opener, electro-chromatic
mirrors and a Touch Control infotainment system, with an 8.4-inch touchscreen
and rotary control knob.
Paying extra will give prospective
buyers the Luxury, Sport or Zegna Luxury package (available only with the
latter), which adds bespoke silk and premium Italian leather from luxury
clothing company Ermenegildo Zegna, in three color combos with contrast
stitching in black, tan or red.
All versions of the 2017 Maserati
Levante are offered with a single engine, a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6, available
in two states of tune, 345 HP in the base version and 424 HP in the S. Power is
sent to the Q4 AWD system through an 8-speed automatic gearbox. For improved
fuel economy, a start/stop system is standard.
