McLaren 570S GT4

McLaren pulled the wraps off their new racer, the 570S GT4. Based on the Sports Series, McLaren launches two track-only derivatives with the 570S Sprint and the 570S GT4.

Both cars are developed in conjunction with the motorsport division of McLaren and GT specialists CRS GT. McLaren says that the new GT4-spec model is still not ready, with the development program to include a season-long participation in the British GT championship.

The new 570S GT4 will be raced by customer team Black Bull Ecurie Ecosse as McLaren intends to develop the car in live race environments. As for the 570S Sprint, this will be unrestricted by racing regulations as it focuses to trackdays but customers could upgrade their Sprint into a full-on GT4 spec at any time.

The GT4’s new bodywork uses carbon fiber and aluminum over the wider tracks front and rear, with the suspension now featuring two-way adjustable dampers with coil-over springs. The unique aerodynamic package now includes a huge fixed rear wing and a larger front splitter. An extra radiator is mounted at the front, just below the new bonnet.

The twin-turbo 3.8-litre V8 is still mated to the seven-speed double-clutch gearbox. McLaren will reveal more details on the 570S Sprint on a later date.
