Buick LaCrosse Hybrid Electric
The Buick LaCrosse family has welcomed a
new member that, like the Avista Concept before it, was revealed in China.
The LaCrosse Hybrid Electric Vehicle
(HEV) will be presented officially on April 25, at the 2016 Beijing Auto Show,
and looks virtually identical to the standard model, adopting the same design
language.
It is powered by a 1.8-liter SIDI engine
that's paired with an electric variable transmission and a 1.5 kWh lithium ion
battery unit. Buick has yet to announce output figures, but states that the
LaCrosse Hybrid needs 8.9 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h.
Average fuel economy stands at 50.05 mpg US (4.7 lt/100 km), 35 percent less
than the LaCrosse with eAssist that's powered by a smart hybrid powertrain.
General Motors will continue to expand
its "green" car lineup over the next five years with 10 new vehicles
that will be offered in china.
