Haima S5
The Haima S5 was showcased at the 2015
Shanghai Auto Show. The stylish SUV had made its debut one year earlier at the
2014 Beijing Auto Show.
The S5’s exterior features both curvy
and sharp edges. The face bears a twin-strip chrome grille with extended
headlights and secondary lights as we move toward the bumper; a horizontal
strip of LEDs is added to lend further visual distinction. The side profile
gets lower body cladding, roof rails and 16-inch rims. The rear sees angular
LED tail lights and a tailgate spoiler.
The compact SUV measures in at 4,358 mm,
1,823 mm and 1,630 mm in length, width and height respectively.
Coming to the interior, the Haima S5 has
a sporty ambience with an unconventional dashboard design. The leather seats
have a dual tone which is also carried to the door trims. Aluminum accents are
spotted on the AC vents and four-spoke multi-function steering wheel. The
center console stands out with its gloss-black finish with the the infotainment
screen taking its place at the very top.
Powering the Haima S5 are two gasoline
engines. The first is a 1.6-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol
engine generating 120 hp and 160 Nm, and the second is a 1.5-liter four
cylinder turbocharged petrol unit producing 160 hp and 223 Nm of peak torque.
The bigger engine is married to a 5-speed manual transmission and the smaller
engine is coupled to a CVT.
