Wuling Baojun 310

New Spy Shots of the upcoming Wuling Baojun 310, looking good in red although the wheels could be a bit bigger. The Baojun 310 is the hatchback variant of the Baojun 330 sedan. It will debut next week on the Beijing Auto Show and launch on the Chinese car market in May.

Baojun is an entry level brand under the SAIC-GM-Wuling joint venture, in which GM has a 43% stake. The other partners are SAIC (aka Shanghai Auto) and Wuling Automotive. SAIC and GM are also tied up in the giant Shanghai-GM joint venture that makes Buick, Chevrolet, and Cadillac cars for the Chinese market.

‘Baojun’ means ‘Treasure Horse’ and the logo depicts a horse head.

The Baojun 310 will get exactly the same engines as the Sail, with the 1.5 liter claimed to deliver 109 hp. Lone transmission will be the five-speed manual. No automatic for Baojun. Price will start just under 50.000 yuan and end around 65.000 yuan. Dimension size is 4,032/1,682/1,470 mm, wheelbase is 2,550 mm.

A leaked image of the interior. Looks good with some wood, but the steering wheel seems old. The touch screen is huge but you will get it only in the top-spec variants.
