2017 BMW R1200GS Adventure Triple Black
It's difficult to say how much we enjoy
seeing BMW's flagship R1200 GS Adventure enduro-travel machine playing it cool
and being available in more than the official livery. Of course, it's that time
of the year when we can show you a preview of the BMW R1200GS Adventure Triple
Black version for the upcoming season.
BMW still avoids delivering a
true all-black GSA beast, but we can hope that the voices of those who dream of
an entirely darkened machine will be heard. So far, BMW is still stubborn
enough to install silvery crash guards on the R1200GS Adventure, while
retaining the same look for the rear luggage rack. Also, the collectors are
proudly breaking the harmony with their stainless steel mirror finish that
matches that of the exhaust silencer's sleeve.
Several other parts have been left
unanodized black, and the list includes the bash plate under the engine, the
rear subframe superstructure, the handlebars, and the lower fork regions that
accommodate the axle and the calipers. How hard is it co have them blackened
out, too, especially as so many other aluminium parts got this treatment, such
as the swingarm and both hubs.
As for the 2017 BMW R1200GS Adventure
Triple Black, its middle tank covers, tank-top storage compartment, and front
fender wear a Black Storm Metallic paint. For a match, the engine, rims and
hubs are also black, while the rear subframe, valve covers, and the tank, plus
several other accents are painted in Agathe Grey.
The 2017 BWM R1200GS Adventure Triple
Black will be available in limited quantities, and in Germany, it can be bought
for € 16,830 as opposed to the standard version that retails for € 16,500.
