2016 MINI Ray
MINI Australia has announced the return
of its entry-level Ray variant, set to replace the MINI One in the lineup from
this month onward.
The MINI Ray comes powered by a
1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder powertrain, pushing out 102 Hp and 180 Nm.
Economy is rated at 4.9 L/100 km for the manual variant, while the automatic
variant returns a claimed 5.0 L/100 km.
It will be available with a
choice of pepper white or midnight black metallic finish, at no extra cost, and
also throws in bonnet stripes, clear indicator lenses and a special ‘Ray’
badging.
MINI is also offering accessory colours
that can be optioned for no extra cost, with the choice of pink, yellow or
green, to contrast the white or black exterior finish. Other standard features
include 15-inch wheels, Bluetooth connectivity with voice recognition, heated
electric mirrors, rear parking assist, an electronic locking differential, and
six airbags.
All new Rays come with MINI’s three
year/unlimited kilometer warranty, while MINI also offers its MINI service
inclusive package, which can cover maintenance costs with an initial one-off
payment. MINI offers the choice of two service inclusive packages, with the
basic package covering servicing, and the plus package taking care of servicing
and selected maintenance.
The MINI Ray will be offered in
three-door and five-door hatchback forms, with drive-away pricing as follows:

- 2016 MINI Ray 5-door manual – AU$ 30,500
- 2016 MINI Ray 5-door automatic – AU$ 33,000
