2017 Honda CMX500
Two patent drawings of what seems like the CX-02
concept’s production ready variant, has emerged online. Designed at the Honda Two Wheeler R&D facility
in India, this is the second Honda bike which has been completely designed in
India, after the Navi.
Its not yet clear how will the new Honda
CMX500 will be positioned in the market. Honda CMX500 will
co-exist with Honda CB500 with the former set to be more of a crossover model.
(CX stands for Concept Xross).
Images reveal that the 2017 Honda CMX500 features an
upright riding position, making it comfortable for the rider to take on urban
as well as off-road environment. It also gets higher front fairing and larger
exhaust. Built on a new steel frame, it gets adjustable screen and a swingarm
with larger travel, so that you can conviniently take on those off-roads. It gets
Avon Distanzia 120/70-R17 and 160/60-R17 dual purpose tyres.
Other details on board the CMX500 include LED
headlights and tail lamps, instrument cluster with full color digital display
that could be synced with your smartphone via Bluetooth. Speaking about the
engine, while it will be powered by an in-line two cylinder liquid cooled 500
cc engine. Power and torque figures are not revealed as of now.
