Skoda Fabiaq (render)
Skoda recently launched
its first real crossover in the form of the Kodiaq. But the seven-passenger
crossover likely won't be Skoda's last. The coming
years will see the Czech automaker launch one or more smaller crossovers to
slot in below the Kodiaq. And the result will likely look something like this.
Automotive rendering artist Theophilus Chin calls
his creation the Fabiaq, simply because it's a cross between a Fabia hatchback
and the Kodiaq crossover. Any production model would likely carry a catchier
nameplate that also evokes a beast of the North – following
the Yeti and the new Kodiaq.
Whatever it's called, this crossover would be
smaller than the VW Tiguan, taking the approximate size of the Taigun concept
that may or may not ever see production. That would launch it into an emerging
and highly competitive segment already occupied by vehicles like the Chevy
Trax, Fiat 500X, Jeep Renegade, Opel Mokka/Buick Encore, Nissan Juke, Honda
HR-V/Vezel and Mazda CX-3.
