2017 Ariel Ace R
Ariel, have teased a sketch
of the 2017 Ariel Ace R, just ahead of its unveiling at the Motorcycle Live
show at the NEC in Birmingham, England. Using a Honda VFR1200F V-four engine,
the Ace R will have a very limited production run of only 10 units.
Following its usual custom of making, well, custom
vehicles, the Ariel Ace R will come with a unique colour scheme, as well as as
an engine specification that is claimed to give “more performance and power
over the standard bike.” The 10 Ace Rs that will be available for sale will
also come with a one-off paint scheme.
The base Ariel Ace is formed from a trellis frame,
much like its four-wheeled sibling, from billet-machined aluminium. After
further hand-welding and hard anodising, the frame is mated to a 1,237 cc
V-four engine that puts out 173 hp at 10,300 rpm and 131 Nm of torque at 8,750
rpm.
Purchasing an Ariel Ace allows the owner access to a
staggering list of options, including four different seats and three different
fuel tanks. Aside from the option of a conventional upside-down or girder fork,
the options list includes adjustable footrests, handlebars, dampers, wheels, body
parts, exhausts, fairings, and different steering head angles.
Price for the Ariel Ace is currently upon
application, as the extensive list of custom options makes it difficult to put
a price on it, but it has been reported that prices start from 20,000 pounds
sterling. It can be assumed that the limited edition Ariel Ace R
will cost an order of magnitude more.
