The current Maruti Dzire Tour is reportedly getting the axe by March 2017. It
will likely be replaced by a stripped-down version of the second-gen Maruti
Dzire.
IAB’s illustrator Shoeb Kalania has shown his
depiction of the 2017 Maruti Dzire Tour in a rendering. The current version
starts at INR 527,408 (ex-showroom Delhi), and to lower the price-point,
several aesthetic features will be stripped off the car.
The fleet version will be devoid of chrome elements
or rub rails, with the grille made of plastic and the brand and model chrome
badges replaced by stickers. The bumpers and door handles will not feature body
colour. Alloy wheels may not be included in the standard equipment list, but
could be an optional accessories.
In the Swift Dzire Tour, Maruti Suzuki nixed the
left-side door mirror, but with safety regulations tightening, it would seem
bizarre if such an essential is overlooked. The interior would be devoid of an
audio system, and Maruti could upholster using synthetic material.
The 2017 Maruti Dzire Tour should be offered with
the 84.3 PS 1.2-litre VVT naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine and
the 75 PS 1.3-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine. A 5-speed manual
transmission should be standard, and the AGS option, which is pitched to the
self-drive customer, will likely be dropped.
