RUF SCR 4.2
(964)
The 964-inspired RUF SCR 4.2 looks like a restored
80s Porsche 911, but actually sits on RUF’s own platform which is 70 mm longer
than the original 964’s. Despite its increased dimensions, the SCR 4.2 is a
featherweight by modern standards at just 2,646 lbs., even with a full roll
cage. It wears a 24 lb. carbon fiber body shell, as well as hood, front fenders,
doors panels and engine lid made of the same.
A 518 hp, 4.2L naturally-aspirated flat-six imbues
the sports coupe prototype with enough grunt to hit 200 mph. Add to that a
traditional six-speed gearbox and you may find that motoring perfection has a
set price, in this case US$ 527,664.
