The images of the 2017 Bajaj Pulsar 200NS from a dealer stockyard come as no surprise.

The Bajaj Pulsar 200NS employs a 199.5 cc triple spark mill which it shares with the Pulsar RS200. Unlike the faired machine, the Bajaj Pulsar 200NS is expected to continue with a carburettor instead of fuel injection. The engine, coupled to a 6-speed gearbox, produces 23.52 PS of maximum power at 9,500 rpm and 18.3 Nm of peak torque at 8,000 rpm.

Interestingly, export markets like Turkey and Russia get a fuel injected version of this mill. The 2017 Bajaj Pulsar 200NS with or without fuel injection, will meet the upcoming stricter BSIV emission norms. Cosmetic changes include a ‘200’ sticker on the tank extension and pin striping on the wheels. None of the images so far have an ABS ring which might mean that Bajaj is skipping it at least at the launch.

The Bajaj Pulsar 200NS was discontinued in 2015 to accommodate the newly launched Pulsar 200NS and Pulsar AS200. With sales of both the faired and adventure sports motorcycles failing to impress, Bajaj is bringing back the Bajaj Pulsar 200NS to boost its market share in the 200 cc segment. Expect a formal announcement from Bajaj Auto soon, with pricing expected to begin at around INR 1 lakh.
