HSV has signed off local production with an epic
LS9-powered Commodore, but what will happen next year when the Aussie-made
Holden Commodore is gone? CarAdvice rendering guru has gone to town on images of the
2018 Holden Commodore and added a stack of HSV-ness.
HSV is prepared for life beyond the locally produced Holden Commodore. If we
had to speculate, we’d expect HSV to work toward slotting a turbocharged V6
engine from the Cadillac range under the bonnet of the new Commodore liftback
and Commodore Sportwagon.
Producing 470 Hp of power and 600 Nm of torque, the
3.6-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine will dash from 0-100 km/h in just 3.8
seconds. It can be had with either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic
gearbox.
Both the Commodore liftback and Commodore Sportwagon
will be built with the availability of all-wheel drive, meaning that these
engines could deliver some serious performance figures. Braking would be taken
care of by HSV’s huge AP Racing rotor and caliper package to ensure maximum
stopping power.
