Royal Enfield has updated the Indian website thereby
confirming the fuel-injected Himalayan. The
motorcycle with fuel injection was first showcased at the EICMA last year and is likely to reach showrooms in the coming weeks.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan with fuel injection can
be significantly more refined than the carburetted version. The 411 cc mill
air-cooled mill is assisted by an oil-cooler and is coupled to a 5-speed
gearbox. The engine is capable of producing 24.5 bhp of maximum power at 6,500
rpm and 32 Nm of peak torque at 4,250 rpm.
The company has not revealed the weight of the fuel injected model. The
Royal Enfield Himalayan gets a half duplex split cradle frame and is suspended
over 41 mm telescopic forks up front and a linked monoshock in the rear.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan has a ground clearance
of 220 mm and has an 800 mm seat height. Brakes include a 300 mm disc in the
front with two-piston floating calliper and a 240 mm rear disc with a
single-piston floating calliper.
The carburetted Royal Enfield Himalayan is at
present priced at INR 160,148 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and the fuel injected
version is expected to cost a few thousand more.
