The MY2017 Honda
Vezel (Honda HR-V in other countries) 1.5L will get LED headlamps, LED
taillamps and an upgraded interior. This is the first major update for the
Guangzhou-Honda-built Vezel since its launch in China on October 28, 2014.
The new Honda Vezel gets dual
barrel LED headlamps identical to the HR-V sold in ASEAN markets, where the
LEDs are for low beam only. It also gets LED DRLs, revised LED taillamps, while
the rest of the car, including alloy wheels, look identical to the outgoing
model.
The Vezel measures 4,294 mm long, 1,772
mm wide, 1,605 mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2,610 mm. The Vezel is sold with
two petrol engine options – a 131 hp 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine and a 165
hp 1.8-litre i-VTEC petrol engine, which can be had with either a 6-speed
manual gearbox and Earthdreams CVT with seven ratios. In most variants, power
is sent to the front wheels, while all-wheel drive is available in the top-end
variant.
Prices for the current Honda Vezel range from CNY
128,800 to CNY 189,800. In China, the Vezel is sold alongside the Honda XR-V, a
less expensive and distinctive version of the Vezel manufactured by the
Dongfeng Honda JV for a geo- and age-wise different target audience. It is sold
in five trim levels and priced from CNY 127,800 to CNY 162,800 at launch.
