The 2017 Mercedes E-Class was launched in India in February in two models: E 200 and E 350 d. On 2 June, the executive saloon’s range will see the addition of the E 220 d model.

The 2017 Mercedes E-Class E 220 d is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 195 PS at 3,800 rpm and 400 Nm of torque between 1,600 rpm and 2,800 rpm. Power is directed to the rear wheels via the 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic transmission. It can reach from 0-100 km/h in 7.3 seconds and achieve a top speed of 240 km/h. These figures apply to the standard wheelbase version, though, and the long-wheelbase version’s extra weight will have an effect on the performance.

The Mercedes E 220 d model will slot between the E 200 and E 350 d models. The E 200 and E 350 d are both offered with features like LED headlamps with daytime running lights, 17-inch alloy wheels (E 200 – 5-spoke/E 350D – 10-spoke), Avantgarde Exterior line, panoramic sunroof, 64-colour ambient lighting, three-zone THERMOTRONIC automatic climate control, electrically adjustable seats with lumbar support, 12.3-inch COMAND Online infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration compatibility and LINGUATRONIC voice control system.

The 2017 Mercedes E-Class is priced at INR 56.7 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the E 200 petrol model and at INR 70.15 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) in the E 350 d diesel model. The E 220 d diesel model should cost around INR 65 lakh.
