Fiat India has launched the base Punto Evo Pure in
Goa, following its national launch last month. It replaces the Fiat Punto Pure
(based on the pre-facelift version) and costs INR 4,79,000 (ex-showroom Goa).
To keep prices as low as possible, the Punto Evo
Pure is only available with a 1.2 litre FIRE 4-cyl petrol mill coupled to a
5-speed gearbox, which produces 68 PS of maximum power at 6,000 rpm and 96 Nm
of peak torque at 2,500 rpm. The fuel mileage of the Punto Evo Pure petrol is rated
at 15.8 km/L.
The Punto Pure is the base, cut-cost version of the
regular Punto Pure, so there’s not much in its equipment column. Standard
features include automatic door lock, rear fog lamps, engine immobiliser, light
guide tail lamps, body coloured bumpers, manual air-conditioning, front power
windows, tilt steering, 12V power socket, tachometer, MID, ORVM-mounted
blinkers and full wheel covers. The car does not feature airbags.
Like the regular version, there are six colours
available to choose from, Exotica Red, Bossonova White, Hip Hop Black, Minimal
Grey, Bronzo Tan and Magnesio Grey. With the Punto Evo Pure, Fiat hopes to
attract buyers looking for a sub INR 5 Lakh hatchback that offers all the
admirable traits of a Fiat vehicle and at the commercial market.
