The 2017 Kia Sorento range has been bolstered this week with the addition of a new Si Limited variant, which adds around AUD 3000 of extra value for no price increase over the entry-level model on which it’s based. Available in both petrol and diesel guises, the Sorento Si Limited follows in similar fashion to the recently announced value-focused Cerato Sport and Sportage Si Premium models.

Over the standard Si, the Si Limited scores 18-inch machine finish alloy wheels, leather-appointed seat trim, a premium steering wheel with faux wood trim and Limited badging. Four colours will be offered; Clear White (solid), Aurora Black, Silky Silver and Snow White Pearl (premium). Standard features on the base car already include a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation, rear-view camera, along with front and rear parking sensors.

Under the bonnet is the choice of the 271 Hp/318 Nm 3.3-litre V6 petrol engine driving the front wheels, or the familiar 200 Hp/441 Nm 2.2-litre turbo-diesel driving all four wheels. Both drivetrains are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission as standard. The Si Limited V6 petrol starts at AUD 43,990, while the oiler commands a AUD 3500 premium at AUD 47,490.

While it may appear the Si Limited is listed AUD 3000 higher than its Si equivalent, the difference appears to be absorbed in the obligatory on-road costs – with both the Si and Si Limited shown at the same driveaway price on Kia Australia’s online price calculator.
