The Lada Vesta adventure-styled estate version is in the development stage.
Dubbed ‘Lada Vesta Cross’, this version was recently spied testing in South Kazakhstan,
courtesy YouTube channel Lonely.
The spy video is proof that the Lada Vesta Cross is
now close to the production stage. The Cross version has more appeal than the
sedan thanks to a sporty rear-end with a raked back glass. The Cross
version’s front-end looks the same as that of the sedan version. On the sides,
the wheel Cross appear a little more pronounced, but other things, besides the
third glass and longer roof, look no different.
The Lada Vesta Sedan measures 4,410 mm in length,
1,764 mm in width and 1,497 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,635 mm. The
Lada Vesta Cross’ body will be longer, and possibly have a little increment in
the width and height too.
The Vesta sedan is available with two four-cylinder
petrol engines: a 1.6-litre unit that produces 106 hp and 148 Nm of torque and
a 1.8-litre unit that develops 122 hp and 170 Nm of torque. The 1.6-litre
engine is paired to either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed automated
manual transmission, while the 1.8-litre engine is linked to the latter as
standard. Expect to see these engines on the new variant.
Russian reports say that the Lada Vesta SW Cross’
launch will be held in Q3 2017. The Vesta family will have a regular estate
version too, and this model will also go on sale during the same time period.
