The Yamaha X-Ride is set to get an upgrade this year
with a new 125 cc mill. TMC Blog reveals that the automatic scooter, codenamed
Yamaha BY8, could have a price tag of IDR 12 million.
The new Yamaha X-Ride 125
is expected to retain the halogen headlamp and analogue instrument cluster. The
edgy design language is expected to be retained with only minor changes. The
scooter is also expected to bear new graphics.
Brakes in the new Yamaha X-Ride 125 too can be expected
to be the same disc up front and a drum setup in the rear. The present
generation 113.7 cc air-cooled, SOHC mill is capable of producing 7.75 PS of
maximum power at 8,500 rpm and 8.5 Nm of peak torque at 5,000 rpm. The 125 cc
version, which will adopt the ‘Blue Core’ technology, will certainly have a
higher output.
The Yamaha X-Ride, at present, tips the scales at 98
kg and has a 4.8-litre fuel tank. The seat height measures 780 mm while the
ground clearance stands at 152 mm.
The Yamaha X-Ride 125 is expected to be launched
in June-July 2017.
