Chevrolet unwrap its concept lineup for
the 2013 SEMA Show. The company has prepared some updates for the Sonic,
Malibu, Cruze and Impala, but our favorite is this Urban Cool Impala concept.
As if the refreshed 2014 Impala isn’t already one of
the baddest looking sedans to grace the local rent-a-wreck parking lot, Chevy
went ahead and pushed the bounds of rental-rig supremacy with the Urban Cool
Concept.
Chevy started by fitting the concept with an aggressive
ground-effect kit that turns the Impala from rental-lot throwaway to a pretty
sexy machine. Chevy then dropped the ride height a little for a stouter stance,
draped a coat of bright-white paint on the body, added in a custom-painted
grille and slapped on a set of 20-inch roller with grille-matching accents for
good measure.
On the inside, Chevy added in high-gloss,
piano-black and anodized, low-gloss black trimming combined with contrasting
Sky Cool Gray leather-trimmed seats that pop, thanks to their orange stitching.
Chevy added in an 11-speaker,
Bose Centerpoint Surround Sound System, Chevrolet MyLink system and an
eight-inch color touchscreen. Not really our cup of tea, as the Impala is the
same stamped out rent-o-buggy it’s always been, just in a different wrapper.
