This is the Zhidou D3, a new electric mini car from China. It will be launched on the Chinese car market in Q3, positioned above the Zhiodu D2. It is classified by the Chinese government as a full-fledged electric car, not an LSEV, so it can hit the highway and buyers will get the green-car subsidies.

Design is very nice for the segment; modern and sporty, with a big and shiny grille, a spoiler above the rear window, and a trendy full-width light unit.

The two-seat Zhidou D3 is powered by an electric motor with an output of 40 horsepower, mated to a 17.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Top speed is 100 km/h. The company hasn’t announced the range yet, but a good guesstimate would be somewhere between 170 and 200 kilometers. Dimension size is 2975/1585/1590 mm, and wheelbase is 1865 mm.

The D3 is manufactured by Zhi Dou Electric Vehicle Corporation (web), also known as ZD Auto. The Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, the conglomerate that also owns Geely Auto and Volvo, is the majority shareholder of ZD Auto.
