The auto industry and the fashion world have had collaborations since time immemorial. So it comes as no surprise that with the 2013 Geneva Motor Show just around the corner, we’re seeing more and more of these partnerships come out of the woodwork again.

The latest one comes by way of smart and French urban fashion label Zadig & Voltaire. Considering the target market for both companies - the young, lifestyle-oriented, “it” crowd - the smart/Zadig & Voltaire collaboration appears to be, well, a "smart" one.

Available for both the coupe and cabriolet models of the fortwo , the Zadig & Voltaire limited edition will come to Geneva dressed to impress in a black finish with a silver motif trim that’s distinctively dressed in the famous Zadig & Voltaire styling. The mirror caps also stand out for the choice of color while the LED daytime running lights add a touch of luxury to the normally subdued compact car.

Inside, the modifications are more striking, particularly the use of a black and anthracite leather with matching yellow stitching, including the enormous yellow embroidery on the back seat that pretty much tells you who designed this car: "smart by ZV".

If you look at the lower part of the dashboard and doors, more of the black and anthracite leather with embossed pattern and yellow stitching can be found, ensuring that there’s no way you’ll ever think of the smart fortwo by Zadir & Voltaire as just a standard model.

As soon as it finishes its stop at the Geneva, the fortwo Zadig & Voltaire Edition will retail in dealerships for € 17,100 (US$ 22,876) for the coupe and € 20,450 (US$ 27,358) for the cabrio.
