Oberdan Bezzi, the Italian designer has released a few
renderings of Bajaj ‘V22’, using the Bajaj Pulsar 220 as the base.
The frame and powertrain have been borrowed from the
semi-faired motorcycle. The 220 cc oil cooled mill is capable of producing
21.05 PS of maximum power at 8,500 rpm and 19.12 Nm of peak torque at 7,000
rpm. The renderings show the bikes with upside down front forks. The above
render apes the look of a modern day cafe racer, while the one below gets a
Scrambler-ish look.
The brake system gets Brembo discs at both ends. The
Scrambler even gets chunky off-road tyres and ABS too is present.
Interestingly, even the Bajaj Pulsar 220 does not get ABS, even as an option.
However, as this is an imaginary concept, note that some of the features or
design elements may not make it to the final version, should Bajaj decide to
work on such a model.
Moreover, Rajiv Bajaj has been clear about Bajaj V’s
brand positioning – as a premium commuter. Using a bigger and more powerful
engine does not seem like a game plan which Bajaj will use, at least for now.
