With Kawasaki’s history of spawning
multiple models from the same platform and engines, they might bring out an
adventure tourer version based on the Z900. IAB’s automotive designer, Shoeb
Kalania, has rendered the Kawasaki Versys 900.
The design inspirations have been drawn from the
bigger Kawasaki Versys 1000. In the naked Kawasaki Z900, the 948 cc in-line
four-cylinder mill is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox housed in a steel trellis
frame. The engine is capable of producing 125 PS of maximum power at 9,500 rpm
and 98.6 Nm of peak torque at 7,700 rpm.
The Kawasaki Versys 900 can use the existing frame
but the suspension setup will have to be tuned up to accommodate the adventure
tourer characteristics. This will include increased travel up front with
possibly similar levels of adjustability seen in the Kawasaki Z900. Just like the naked roadster which gets 17-inch
wheels, the Kawasaki Versys 900 adventure tourer, if becomes a reality, will
get similar sized tyres.
