Following its unveiling last month, Hyundai has
brought the India-made 2017 Hyundai Grand i10X (facelift) to the GIIAS for
showcase. Prices start from IDR 170 million for the base i10X manual.
The facelifted i10X carries over the changes from
the regular Grand i10, both being manufactured and exported from HMIL’s Chennai
plant. The former gets a new black-plastic panel over the facelifted bumper
with a faux skid plate and red accents, black-plastic wheel arches, black-plastic
side skirts with red highlights and a black plastic rear bumper with faux dual
exhaust outlets and silver bumper garnish. The 14-inch two-tone alloy wheel set
is exclusive to the i10X.
The interior is identical to the standard Grand i10.
It has a dual-tone beige and black theme for the dashboard and seats, standard
steering wheel, manual climate control, OEM 2-DIN audio system, and rear HVAC
vents.
Being the more rugged variant, Hyundai has raised
the ground clearance by 15 mm to 167 mm. Under the hood is a slightly bigger
1.25-litre Kappa petrol engine with 87 PS and 12.2 kg-m of torque.
Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic.
