PT Astra Honda Motor has launched a special edition of the Honda CBR250RR. The bike
features an interesting theme in the bodywork called ‘The Art of Kabuki’. For
the uninitiated, the ‘Art of Kabuki’ depicts the ancient, traditional culture
of ‘Kabukimono’, an era of the Samurai warriors. Only 100 units of the Special
Edition bike are available. It costs IDR 70,825,000, OTR Jakarta.
The bike features artwork that illustrates
the map of Indonesia. The Special Edition commemorates the bike’s first
anniversary in the Indonesian market. Further cosmetic changes include a red
frame, white pillion seat cowl, front forks with a black finish. Another unique
addition is the black front and white rear wheels, both with rim stickers.
The Honda CBR250RR employs a 250 cc liquid-cooled
DOHC 8-valve, parallel twin cylinder powerplant. It produces 38.7 PS of power
at 12,500 rpm and maximum torque of 23.3 Nm at 11,000 rpm. The throttle is of
ride-by-wire type, and the engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission.
The bike tips the scales at 168 kg (kerb) and the
fuel tank capacity stands at 14.5 litres. The front end uses inverted forks
while the rear employs 5-step adjustable monoshock with Pro-Link System. The
bike also comes with a dual channel ABS.
The new bike is the second Special Edition model, as
the Repsol Edition is already on sale in the Indonesian market.
